4 December: UK’s Biggest Heritage Transfer Kickstarts £30m Regeneration Project

Medieval Coventry is delighted to be involved in this exciting new project approved last week. The transfer of the portfolio of heritage assets by Coventry City Council to Historic Coventry Trust has been lauded by heritage agency Historic England as by far the largest and most ambitious in the UK to date. In total there are 22 individual properties including Whitefriars Gate, the two remaining medieval city wall gates, as well as 19th-ccentury Drapers Hall, on the site of Coventry’s medieval Great Drapery. Coventry Heritage Action Zone involvement for the Medieval Coventry charity

The Medieval Coventry charity is now on the Board of the Heritage Action Zone for Coventry. The board is chaired by Historic England and involves heritage partners in the city including Culture Coventry, City of Coventry Archaeology, Coventry Cathedral, Priory Visitor Centre, Coventry University and the Coventry Society.
